Default Collection Setting
Callisto allows you to specify a default collection for a user. This is then used for the initial dataset shown to the user when opening any Configuration Manager pages. This article is relevant for Callisto On-Premise. Callisto As A Service uses the RBAC model, so this functionality is not required.

To set a default collection for a user we use the Administration - Users node.

Edit the user account, navigate to the User Settings tab and enter the Collection ID of the default collection you wish to apply.
Note that this does not prevent a user from selecting another collection from any of the chart or page filter pickers, but it ensures that all dashstats and charts on first-use are filtered against this specific collection.
Most customers find this useful in these scenarios:
- Limiting a user in a region to devices in that region, for example a New York manager only wants to see statistics about New York hosted devices, so we limit his account to the New York Devices collection
- Removing known inactive/stored machines from the default views. i.e. we create a collection which excludes all machines currently in storage presenting more realistic statistics about the environment
